My niece could use some prayers
Long story very very short.....My niece has been in the hospital for just over a week. She had some infection in her blood that started with a broken leg a couple months ago. Progressively got worse over the last week & she is now being life watched from St. Francis in Wichita to Children's Mercy in KC this morning. Her kidneys & liver are shutting down and they don't know why.

Any good thoughts, prayers, whatever you have - she can use them right now.

Wow! I hadn't seen this thread since Friday afternoon so I didn't see either of your updates (the bad one or the good one) until just now. That sounds pretty miraculous to me. I'll continue to pray for her complete recovery.

...and for beer. But I'll probably just go out and buy some of that.

Small update....

Over the course of Sunday they turned down how much oxygen they were giving her & let her do most of the breathing on her own. Today, they are on the last stage assisting her breathing & plan to take her completely off of it at some point today.


On a side note - thanks to everyone for dealing with the wide range of emotions I've been through in the past 8 days. It's been a roller coaster ride, especially the last 3 days.

This story has had more ups and downs than anything I've ever seen and it is wonderful outcome when it looked so dire.

Believe me, God knows who Mr. Plow is. I had a long conversation with him and I let him know to direct any & all prayers for Mr. Plow's niece to the appropriate department. I didn't want him to have a back up of prayers that he didn't know what to do with.
