*.* 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*

Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition!

No one else started it so here it is!

**From the 2013 Thread**

If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs

If you have questions about the SS programs, look here:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ

Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

Got a video of my sumo deads from last workout. Noticed on the 405 set I didn't lock my knees out. Seriously I had no idea I was doing that and wouldn't have noticed if I didn't take a video. I'll look to correct that next time.

I feel horrible not checking in - here's the summary. I'm still working out 6 days per week - I consume roughly 1800 calories a day - I cheat and do NOT work out on Friday - I'm lean - very lean - but not gaining a ton of mass (which sucks) - basically I just look very fit - I'm nowhere near as 'big' as some of you hoss's --- it's cool though - it gives me something to aim for - I highly doubt much will change - although I'll be maintaining just fine. If I had a w/o partner or even a spotter more often - that'd be the key for me. Holding at 179lbs.

But I'm just fine guys - just fine....

Yeah also

That ON Cookies and Cream - yes, I hate it.

Remember that Chocolate Bundt Cake Aunt Rose made that tasted like shitty rum? well that's what it reminds me of.

So far nothing has touched the banana cream laced w/ Nat. Peanut Butter and ground flax combined.

Just my $.02, from the 365x3 video, you get a good side angle. You need to sit back more when you intiate the pull, this will engage more hamstring and glute, i noticed this because you have a slight forward angle with your shins. When you sit back you will notice shins become perpendicular with the floor. On the 405x1 maybe its just the angle but your feet look pretty pointed forward. perhaps open them up 45 degrees or more to really open your hips to let you "drop your ballz" on the bar when you push your knees out. Hope this makes sense, Ill upload my 545x1 so you can see what I mean. good pull nonetheless!

I agree with all of that. I'm gripping and ripping much too quick. Goal is to initiate more of a squeeze of the floor without sacrificing speed off the floor. That's been my biggest obstacle as weight gets heavier is the sluggishness off the floor. Sitting back before initiating the pull would probably help that. You think my shins should be almost perpendicular?

Spot on about the feet. It looks like I setup with them a bit more out but shifted them noticeably in before pulling. I'll try more angled out as well.

Thanks.

Sounds . . . dubious. I mean, you'd have to turn a significant amount of white fat to make a difference. 3 months, the difference could be anything, especially without a controlled clinical trial.

It would be amazing if they could do it, though. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

ON Cookies and Cream isn't the greatest. Myofusion has an amazing CnC, as does Iso Sensation. I've heard good things about Muscle Pharm's CnC, too.

I really like the versatility in that Banana Cream, I'm all for a new brand for rotating in - I appreciate all of the suggestions for the ON - It's a good value and just simply makes sense to buy.

I've been pooping like I stole something. Ground flax is great.

Also - one other mention of food and I'll stop, but has anyone bought fresh Cherries? Been a good season - tastier than normal for whatever reason, I noticed.
