Looks pretty good and I'm a sucker for anything Spider-Man. Webslinging will be fun, I'm sure, but I don't see this being as critically acclaimed as the Arkhams.

Spider-man 2: The Movie was amazing. 3 sucked. I'm hopeful this one takes it to a new level, but I'll wait on reviews for sure.

It doesnt have the story, or the voice talent to reach the level of the Arkham Games. With the seemingly constant re-imaginings happening with all these Spider-Man comics, Movies, Games, theres just no way that yet another retelling is going to match the stories told in AA and AC.
Some of the villains in this game Ive never even heard of before, and the ones I have, they completely changed the looks and origins of them. However, ripping the combat and stealth system into the game and combining that with the classic free-roaming and webslinging is going to be awesome. The freeflow combat itself is the best upgrade in this game as far as Im concerned. I can take or leave the stealth stuff, but that ability to take on 15 guys at once and never get touched if I play it right and look like a total badass is really the reason I pre-ordered this game. Web of Shadows is currently top on my list as Best Spiderman game, but I think this one is going to beat it if they execute the implementation of Rocksteady's freeflow fighting system in there properly.

The swinging system for that is yet to be matched. The web actually attaching to buildings for every swing, and the raw speed of the swing has never been replicated. That said, I felt like the character model was way too small. Mini-Spidey got a bit tough to see and control during some of those insane races. Combat was fun as hell, tons of moves and had the bullet time meter to simulate spider-sense. Still though, garden variety thugs that could dodge all my webs and take an insane amount of hits to put down got annoying. Story was pretty crappy. Free roaming was fun, but that story was terrible. Probably the biggest SM2 killer was that feckin kid with the balloon that would generate every four or five blocks and just scream in this godawful annoying voice. I LOST MY BALLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!! So annoying was that repetetive side mission kid that they let you eat a kid holding a balloon as Venom in Ultimate Spiderman.

SMTM2 was a flawed game for sure, but there hasn't been one since that gave me that kind of euphoric feeling of being Spider-man, swinging around Manhattan. That's what really made the Arkham games great in my opinion. Sure the story and VO was great, but the main thing is they made you feel like you were really stepping into the role of the Batman. First time anyone really got it right. Same with SMTM2. Hope this fulfills the promise of that game, finally.

that looks pretty sweet. Batman AC is one of my all time favorite games, if its anything like that I'd play it with any theme.
I'm still waiting for them to take the Batman model and make a Ninja Turtle game out of it. I want it!

I'd like to see them incorporate some of Spidey's scientific mind into the game as well. Something like detective mode in the Arkhams. It'll add another element into the game and make it less of a "oh look I'm Spiderman jumping around shooting webs everywhere" type game.

One of the hardest games I've ever played. The end with the bomb was one of the hardest stages ever.
