Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

Hopefully I'll be on more in the forseeable future...

I still suck but I spot like a muddafunda and am 90% of the time not the absolute worst person on the team (ok, 60% of the time I am not the worst person 90% of the time). Plus I will give you hammo or medicines, whichever is mah job:

I are Smelcolm Black on 360.

*edit* Also, I apologize in advance for tossing a grenade at you when I'm trying to give you a health pack or ammo.

I'm talking about me seeing a teammate getting shot and knowing he needs health....instead of throwing down the health packet, I pull out my revive paddles.

dude, don't sweat it. I just started playing MP with this game, so I'm not great either but have greatly improved now that I know the maps a bit better, and understand what the goal is. I typically play in Conquest so far so my stuff below relates to that. I don't have a headset or mic, so I'm not sure if people are cursing at me etc lol, but I don't think anyone much cares how good a person is as long as they have a rough idea of what's going on and are contributing (maybe not so much in k/d, but other aspects)

A few things I learned (take it for what it's worth)

• Spot. Spot. Spot. ...and Spot some more

• know your role, and play like it. If you're support, lay down tons of ammo packs; mines, c4. Mortar shell the F out of and area with bad guys (this goes back to the 'spotttin' part. If everyone is spotting then you'll likely beable to use Mortars etc more effectively). While playing Support clas I try to stay with an Engineer or Assault. replinish his ammo. try to work as a team (as much as you can etc).

• Dont' be afraid to change up classes when you respawn if something isn't working. If you're squad/team is getting smoked on larger maps by aircraft etc, swith class and take that MF out.

• try to stick with a sqaud mate(s); or, at minimum your team mates. You can go lone gunman/lone wolf, but more often than not you'll encounter 2 or 3 guys from the other team working as a squad and get smoked.

• Build your loadout as you progress/unlock according to the map. No point in having a long range scop for medium to small combat style map, and vice versa

• Plan a route when moving, and do so while going cover-to-cover. Remember, the enemy can spot you too; and/or kill you if you're running like Thomas Jones in a wide open space. Don't rush if you don't have to.

• Check your Six....often

• Watch for snipers. Alot of them will move after a few kills, but some are dumb enough to stay in the same spot, or go back to that spot later. RPG them, C4 their building/hideout etc.

• Dont' shoot unless you can take the guy out, or suppress, or need to defend. Meaning, if you're in cover and see a guy a thousand yards away, don't try to take him out with your LMG; spot him, and see if your buddies around him can take him out. Otherwise you give away your position

• As you learn maps, you'll learn choke points/common routes. try to avoid them if you can, or tread lightly etc.

the fellow CP'ers have been a great resource for learning the tips/tricks etc.

Also, my neighbors are gonna be pissed because I am going to yell "CLEAR!!!" at the top of my lungs every time I use those bad boys. That is a guaran-damn-tee.

Wish there was a way to mix the Karkand maps with the other ones....it's already getting old playing the same 4 maps over and over.

I've been on servers that have all the Karkand maps and old maps mixed together.

Well I don't know if you noticed but I was playing on the same server with ya tonight. That server sucked though. The other team kept raping our team. I had to get off. That just isn't any fun when you keep losing like that. They either really had their shit together or we just sucked that bad.

I noticed. I tried to send you a instant message so we could get some voice action going on and at least coordinate something. But yeah, you are right...that team sucked. We were getting raped hard, especially on Grand Bazaar. However, I made a lot of good progress last night and I finally unlocked the Javelin. That thing is awesome when you get someone to SOFLAM.

I have not quite figured out how to do the team speak. I would be more then happy to run a Soflam while you used the Javelin.
