This number sounds pretty high. In the past i've heard a few people say Kansas City is turning into Detroit. Who's buying it? |

The police should move all the drug dealers near the vacants and allow them to legally sell drugs there. It would decrease crime in the rest of the city.

City or metro? In a healthy market, roughly 5 percent of homes should be vacant so people can have mobility options.

I'd buy it. You'll find similar pricing for comparable homes/neighborhoods in KC and St. Joseph, despite a higher avg income in the KC area. Much more supply in KC.

I’m sure that’s just KCMO, not the metro. Combine bad leadership with horrible schools and high crime, and that’s what you get – anyone who gets a decent income moves to the ‘burbs.

More than half of those are probably on the East and South Side from around Troost on the west, Van Brunt on the East, Truman Rd. on the north and Swope Park on the south.

I'd say East Kansas City and Northeast KC but if you go to midtown a lot of that area looks like it's ran down. I don't see the city in a good situation.
