Beat writing should be about breaking news and getting the entire story clearly explained, ideally as quick as possible. Teicher didn't do any of that. He never did any reporting himself. The people quoted in his stories are never responding to HIS questions. He's always taking them from television snippets or stuff that other people got. About the only exception is when he takes stuff from press conferences, in which case every other Chiefs writer and their mothers are getting and using the exact same material.

The obvious and sometimes redundant headlines were a joke, yes, but far worse than that was his tendency to get off-topic on basic information. He had no voice in his writing. Hell, half the time you couldn't even tell what the ****ing article was about even after reading the entire first paragraph.

That's lazy journalism. Pure and simple. He didn't do a very good job at all.
