Breaking News - KU's Robinson out on Saturday
Robinson out Saturday, possibly Monday with foot sprain

Kansas University men's basketball coach Bill Self announced at his Thursday press conference that junior point guard Russell Robinson will miss Saturday's home contest against Iowa State and possibly Monday's game at Oklahoma with a sprained foot.

Robinson hurt the foot in Wednesday's practice, when a teammate fell on top of him and his foot twisted in an awkward position. The sprain is just under Robinson's big toe.

"He sprained the bottom of his foot, very similar to a turf toe," Self said. "It's not a turf toe, but it's similar to that. But I think he will be very doubtful Saturday, and availability Monday will still be unkown."

Freshman Sherron Collins, who scored 20 points in Monday's 71-62 win at Kansas State, will replace Robinson in the starting lineup.

"He's started a couple games so far, so I'm sure he'll be fine," Self said. "I don't think he's hung up on that at all. I think he's just hung up on playing hard and winning."

Robinson is averaging 6.6 points per game this season, and has started all 28 games to this point. Collins is averaging 10.0 points per contest, and has scored in double figures in 11 of KU's last 13 games.
