Now, this is through last week and doesn't include the game against the Donks, so there's that.

The first number is games played -- the bolded number is our "matchup rating" according to the website.

The Chiefs:
  • Have the best "matchup rating" against TEs according to the website's metric.
  • Have allowed the fewest yards against TEs by a whopping 60 yards.
  • Have only allowed two TDs to TEs all year.
  • Have allowed the fewest receptions by TEs this year.
I said this in the San Diego thread, but when your safeties are Berry, Abdullah, and Parker, you're going to be able to shut down just about every TE in the league.

Right now that does seem to be the case.

On the other hand, the Chiefs are the league's worst against WRs.

http://www.junkyardjake.com/Matchup/...season1/wr.htm

Allowed the 2nd most yards, 3rd most TDs, and 3rd most receptions. They're also 3rd worst in yards per catch.

This defense is getting their swagger back...only took half the season. It's fun to watch them on defense again. I'm glad Berry is not in the box anymore and Abdullah is there.

Also Muaga isn't terrible right now.

Meh we missed Sean Smith badly and was starting backup corner and a rookie the first part of the season. We're alright now.

First we had to try to figure out how to deal without Smith, then as soon as he came back, we had to figure out what to do at the nickel position without Gaines. It seemed like we started to figure it out in that Vikings game and the secondary has been fine since.

I wonder what our rank would be if Smith wasn't suspended the 1st two games.

The loss of Gaines at the nickle still hurts and they will have to draft another CB in 2016 because the depth at that position absolutely sucks dog nuts right now past Smith, Peters and Gaines.

If either Smith or Peters goes down, you can all expect to go right back to the atrocities committed by opposing quarterbacks upon the Chiefs.

They need another dude.
