The '98-99 Chiefs offense revealed a pattern:
Here's the pattern:
The Chiefs maulball their way to a fair beginning, then opposing defenses scheme to stop the run.
Next, the Chiefs go on a losing streak: 6 games in '98 and 4 games in '99.
After this, the HC turns to Jimmy Raye and says, "what else have we got?" to which JR resplies, "a healthy balance of passing and rushing the football."
Then the Chiefs go on a torrid offensive tear for the final 6-8 games (last two years: avg 360+ yds total offense, 26+ ppg).
Here's hope:
We started out 0-2 and maybe that's as much of a losing streak as we need to open it up.
I know defending Jimmy Raye is very unpopular, but when he is allowed to open things up, the Chiefs offense cooks.
And the palyers themselves have all but said in the media that we need to OPEN up the offense.

Hoping that 2 is as much a losing streak as we need this year.... <P>
