I've owned two Canon Powershots. The first was a few years ago (S110, I think). As tough as it was, it didn't like being flushed down the toilet by my then two year old. The present one's a 4.0 megapixel A Something. No problems, and I'm pleased with the picture quality.

Picked up a 6.1 MP Kodak EasyShare [with the dock, but the plain old dock, not the printer dock] on Black Friday for 199. Like what I've gotten out of it so far.

I had a Kodak that I wasn't impressed with, so I upgraded to a Sony. I love it.
I really like this Sony, I sure wished I could afford it. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3616671

The only camera close to Canon in the digital world is Nikon. I have a Canon G3 with a 420ex, before that i had a Canon S30. I'm saving for a D20 right now because i've gone as far as i can with my point and shoot.

You can't go wrong with a Canon. I have a couple of friends that have them and they've never complained.
I currently have a Sony W7 because of the 2.5" LCD. The zoom suck but the pictures are great. |

This is an interesting thread.
Can anyone recommend a good digital camera with a longish zoom? My current has 3x and it's definitely not enough for my needs. The one Dallas Chief posted is a bit pricey.
