Kansas City Chiefs WR Jonathan Baldwin appears to be the favorite for the No. 2 wide receiver job at this point but has not emerged as the dominant offseason player like he was last offseason. WRs Donnie Avery, Dexter McCluster and Terrance Copper are also expected to be candidates for the job.

I really hope he breaks out this year. I know most have written him off but by God he has some talent and just maybe Reid will bring it out. Anyway Avery is already hurt.

If he can raise his game to play a role similar to what Michael Crabtree did for SF, that's gonna really open things up.

Unfortunetly, he has a long way to go to get there and he may not have enough "want to" to push himself there.

Kinda disapointing, I called us drafting him a month or two before the draft.

He's never been publicly called out for loafing at practice by either of those two individuals. In fact, I can't think of a single teammate who has called him out.

I have no idea why Carles has been so underutilized in the passing game, even back to Charlie Weis. From a fan's perspective, I see no reason why Charles couldn't have been used instead of DMC on the majority of concepts he got snaps in.

I don't think people realize what they are in for. Reid's offenses are fun as **** to watch. Guys like Charles and Bowe are going to rape. Alot of the handoffs Alex Smith had last year are going to be short throws and screens to guys that can make plays. Avery will help stretch the field and open up some of those routes. Very underrated signing. Alex is not going to average sub 200 yards a game passing in KC.

I don't remember where I read it, but I remember that at that camp there were reports that some of the players did not believe he was working hard enough at practice. I'm not going to lie, I don't remember where I heard it and it might have been a rumor.

But it wouldn't surprise me in the least, given how many times he seems to be in the doghouse. Because it's hard to explain why he kept getting shuffled in and out of the lineup.
