The posts I read made it look like it was going in a direction more similar to the show "Sliders" but the network pulled the plug.

I don't know. I think a Firefly-like show set in the underbelly of the re-booted Star Trek universe would be pretty cool. You could have a disgraced Starfleet officer as the captain with a ship that is stolen/scrounged tech from various species.

That could work. Then both the federation and klingons also afyer them during their war. But if its a hit, how do you keep that story going? It evolves to what?

Kahns son as first officer just for fun.

I think firefly should have a sequel but be different crew and ship. Then cameo the remaining members until their current shows end. Maybe have one original on the new ship.

Story picks up years after serenity.

Damn myb5 post got lost.

I want it, but you will never beat the original storytelling and cast.

It is one of the best scifi shows ever if you get past the horrible cgi.

Acting, storytelling and makeup/species is top notch.

Seasons 2 thru 4.

Imo they just need to redo all the cgi. Then rebroadcast as new. It would be a hit and every b5 from before would buy the new dvd sets also.

I would have it next to another scifi series also that was rebooted to draw extra intrest.

Yeah, that shit hasn't aged very well. It wasn't bad on my old crappy tube TV back in the 90s, though.

I've heard everything from the time period set just after "Enterprise" to after TNG and even in the same alternate universe as Abrams reboot.

They had a good thing going at the end of DS9. The Alpha Quadrant power structure basically rested all in the Federation, with the Cardassians and Klingons too weak and the Romulans perhaps more open to peace talks. I suppose doing a new series immediately following DS9/VOY would be too much backstory to attract new fans, so that will never happen I'm afraid.

I worry about a new series just after the events of Enterprise, simply because that experiment, while smart and creative, was a flop. It left a bad taste in even some hardcore fans' mouths.

It looks like if there's a new series, it's gonna go with the one most new fans are familiar with: the JJ Abrams universe. I just hope they do some new characters and follow the events on a new ship.

I doubt it. The last time I talked to Ron (earlier this year), he's content with The Family Guy. He wasn't even interested in scoring Ted.

He has a free "workshop" of sorts every month to study Ravel, his favorite composer. A nicer guy you couldn't meet.

Oh, and also, Braga and Berman won't be running the new series, if there is a new series.
