It's the going rate for a HC. The market sets the price. It's Clark's money so, again, why do you care?

Three years ago Pete Carroll signed with Seattle for $6.5 mil/yr.
Jim Harbaugh (no prior NFL HC experience) makes $5 mil/yr. Sean Payton just re-upped with NO for $8 mil/yr. Bill Belichick makes $7.5 mil/yr. Jeff Fisher, last year, signed with St. Louis for $7 mil/yr. Mike Shanahan makes $7 mil/yr.

Right, and Crennel made what? 1M? How much do the guys in Jaxsonville or Carolina get? Was Shurmur making anything in Cleveland? The dude in Tennessee? Fisher makes 5.7M according to Forbes. Andy Reid = Bill Belichick money now. That's something you find acceptable, I find it laughably dumb. The NFL average is higher than I expected, but in no state of the world should a fired coach who went 12-20 his last two years get the highest paycheck in the League. Hunt's money or not. |

If you want to pay Romeo Crennell $$ then you're going to get Romeo Crennell value. JFC of all things to complain about you choose HC salary? Also.. you can't compare Mike Mularkey, Pat Schurmur, Leslie Frazier, etc. Those guys are all 1st time HC's. KC hired a 14-yr HC who has gone to 5 conference championships and a Super Bowl FFS.

Your "point" is reeruned. You're complaining because Reid is making as much or more than Belichick is, when in fact nobody knows how much money Bill Belichick makes.
Reid makes less money than Sean Payton and more money than Pete Carroll. He's directly between those two. If that doesn't sound right, you don't understand the NFL. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...elichick-makes |
