Just hope and pray that Bubbles doesn't bring Jay Price with him, that guy is absolutely useless. Jerrance is as good as gone from Illinois with Groce adding Jamall Walker to the staff so I imagine he will end up either at KU or UK.

That sucks for you guys. Be prepared for some real headscratchers for the games that he has the scout on. The next good gameplan he creates will be his first.

Jerrance would be wise to not follow Weber after watching all of his recruiting successes mean absolutely nothing under Weber's watch. If you can believe it, Illinois had a team littered with top 100 recruits, including a potential lottery pick at center. And that was somehow turned into a 17-15 record including getting blown out by Nebraska. While the cupboard is nowhere near full at Illinois right now, I am still optimistic to see what can happen with the current roster when they are not being forced to play Weberball.

There are a few basic things about Weberball.

1) The "motion offense" normally ends up being passing the ball around the perimeter for 30 seconds and someone jacking up a 3 as the shot clock buzzer sounds.

2) Don't expect any big men to be used effectively. We had a lottery pick at center last year in Meyers Leonard and Bubbles had him setting screens 30 feet from the basket 80% of the time.

3) Weberball never uses a zone defense, even if your entire team can't guard the dribble. And since a zone defense is never used, don't expect your team on offense to be able to effectively attack a zone.

Basically, no matter what, expect a lot of long jumpshots, regardless of whether or not you have good jumpshooters.

The one time that the Illini offense really hummed last year was when the players on the floor basically told Bubbles to f off and just did what they wanted against Mizzou. They started driving to the hoop and creating offense and as a result we closed a 20 point gap. However, in the last 5 minutes of the game, Weberball came back and the offense went back in the toilet.

Bubbles is pretty self-explanatory. That's where his teams find themselves ever year - on the bubble. This year we ended up on the NIT bubble. Luckily, KSU has a lot of returning talent so you guys may do pretty well for a year or two, but trust me, unless Bubbs changes his ways, it's fool's gold.
