Northern Florida still facing some issues:


Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles

The Santa Fe River under I-75 has rapidly risen 15 feet within the past 36 hours due to the heavy rainfall over North Florida from Hurricane Irma. In the event that I-75 closes, please see the detour map. Additional bridges on U.S. 27, U.S. 41, S.R. 47 and possibly U.S. 121 may be impacted. Florida Department of Transportation and Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles have staff monitoring the bridges that may be impacted by the flooding 24/7. If the river rises to an unsafe level, the bridge will be impassable both northbound and southbound, and would be closed immediately. Floridians that are traveling should avoid the area if possible.

Has anyone heard from mlyonsd? He had family in Ft Meyers—his daughter and son-in-law who owned a home there. They flew their children to stay with him. Was wondering what happened, since Meyers got it worse than us.

Breaker was off, sparks came out of AC unit once fixed. Then breaker tripped again.

So could a storm like Irma, have caused a short?

Was out of power for 3 days and unable to connect with the world. Now that I'm back up, I want to shut it back down. This storm was the worst in history. I have friends that have lost their homes. I feel stupid for complaining about getting coffee.

The St Johns river flows NORTH so it reached flooding levels worst in 150 years. Million dollar homes in St Augustine are gone.

I went to work today but didn't get much done after seeing these pics.

Incredibly eye-opening pictures there. Such a tragedy. Jax should have flood gates put in like they did in Providence RI after a bad cane many years ago. I think New Bedford Mass has the longest one on the East coast. I think they're called Hurricane Protection Barriers. Prevents hurricane storm surges and floods from hurricanes.
