I'll admit, the cutscenes are way too long but the gameplay was outstanding. I actually liked it better than any of my FPS games. Now that I can replay and just skip the cut scenes it is even better.

Well that sucked. Reserved one, went to pick it up, machine had an error. They stated that the game was in there but for some reason just couldn't get it out and I would just have to pick another game. Screw it. They didn't have any other games I was interested in.

Why they can't just open the damn thing up and get the game out is beyond me. Seems like they would be better off just putting them in the regular DVD library so people can just pick them up by hand instead of using that machine to do it.

Heh. I didn't even know they were in a machine. How many games did they have available?

Quite a few but all the good ones are checked out. I'll give it another try when a good title comes back in but if it has that error again I won't waste my time on it anymore. The other thing that is really dumb is the fact that you have to reserve the title online in order to pick it up. You can't just go in and ask for it or select it on the machine. Really strange setup.

If you have a library card just go to the website www.tscpl.org then do a catalog search for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 or Wii and it will pull up all the titles they have.

I don't have a problem with the cut scenes. I have always loved the MGS series and the cut scenes have always been an integral part of that. It is definitely a unique approach. Or should I say it was a unique approach when MSG first came out in the mid 90s (and yes I know it was a sequel based on a Nintendo game).

Beautiful Katamari! is a weird but fun title, worth a look. You basically roll this ball around trying to collect objects to make the ball bigger (like a snowball). It is very ..uh..japanese-ish.

Dragonball Z burst limit, decent fighting game but kind of a button masher. You won't like it if you aren't a fan of the anime, which i'm assuming you aren't.

Eternal Sonata - Solid JRPG by Namco-Bandai. I enjoyed the demo I played on PS3, I will probably be picking it up at some point.

FIFA 08 - It's a soccer game. If you don't like soccer..well..

Hot Wheels, MX vs ATV, Nascar - all sound dumb.

NBA 2k8 - the 2k* series is better than the EA sports IMO.

Another soccer game.

Tales of Vesperia - highly successful JRPG series. You don't have to play the others to enjoy this one. Worth a look IMO if you like those types of games.

Tiger Woods golf - decent.

Top Spin 2 - Tennis game. Meh.

Wall-E - avoid at all costs.

I would say that the sports games are fairly self explanatory. NBA2k8 is a great game, much better than live.

Tales of Vesperia is the best JRPG of this gen if you are into the genre. Eternal Sonata is pretty lackluster, I wouldn't recommend it.

What does the J stand for in JRPG? I used to get into Final Fantasy.

And no, I'm not really into anime.

As for the racing games, probably would be some that my brother would like. I prefer to occasionally play racing games in the mode of Forza or GT. Not really into NASCAR or ATV games.

I saw BK on G4 awhile back. Looked like a strange game. What's the point other than rolling around collecting stuff? If that's all you do, it sounds pretty boring to me.
