Madden 2006 game thread

First thing I have to say is...

FINALLY!

NFL Films music! I love the old school NFL films music, and was sick and tired of all of the nu-metal and rap stuff they loaded up on it. I even enjoy the remixes of the old school classics.

Haven't played it much other than the mini camp drills.

One last thing..why did they get rid of the EA bio? I enjoyed that..

OK... this has gotta make you feel good (it did me, anyway). The first game I played of Madden was the Jets game. Out of the gate, here's my results (I'm playing on Pro, btw). Dante kick return for 46 yards. Holmes run up the middle for 8 yards. Green TD pass to Eddie Kennison from the slot.

Jets KO return for 16 yards, tackled by Bartee. Pennington from the 18 yard line, drops back, throws, intercepted by Sammy Knight, returned for TD.

Jets KO return for 15 yards, start at 19 yard line. Run to the right, stopped by Kawika Mitchell for a 2 yard loss. Pennington drops back, sacked by D. Johnson - 4 yard loss. Pennington drops back, intercepted by Surtain, returned for TD.

Eric Hicks had five sacks in the game (I controlled him, so that's not bad).

I'd shit kittens if our first defensive series out of the gate go like this, and I absolutely LOVED that nearly all of our offseason additions made plays... it was pretty funny.

I found it much easier to return kicks this year.

I haven't messed with much of anything except the superstar mode, but i've had some fun. I'm looking forward to getting online with it, and playing some good games for a change...

I like the game but it has some AI problems. I play on all-madden because anything less than that is too easy. but once I turn up the difficulty passing becomes near impossible. can anyone tell me how to complete a deep pass?

I've tried it many times and the result is always the same, its batted down from behind while the receiver runs right past. leading, throwing short, dropping it over the outside shoulder; it seems like it doesnt matter.

according to the ratings, dante should burn most 4th string CBs but they always catch up for the jump, even when theres no safety over the top.

Just finished playing my first game online against the Eagles....

I won something like 41 to 7.

Offense...
Green had 168 passing yards with 1 TD
Holmes had 98 rushing yards, 115 receiving yards
Gonzalez had 35 yards receiving and 1 TD
Parker had 10 Receiving yards
Kennison had 1 catch for 8 yards....

Defensive...
DJ was unbelievable. 8 tackles and 5 sacks, and about 15 QB hurries. DJ had McNabb running all over the field.
Pat Surtain and Sammy Knight shut down Terrell Owens. Surtain had 5 tackles and 1 INT, and Knight had 3 tackles and 3 INT's.
