Chiefs Agree to Terms with Seventh-Round Pick S Jarrad Page
Jul 26, 2006, 2:07:36 PM

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the club has agreed to terms of a three-year contract with S Jarrad Page. As per Chiefs policy, no other terms of the agreement were made available.

Page (6-0, 225) joined the Chiefs as the club’s seventh-round pick (228th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft. A four-year starter in the secondary at UCLA, Page saw action in 49 games (45 starts) during his collegiate career, collecting 249 tackles (169 solo), 15.5 tackles for loss (-39.0 yards), a sack (-9.0 yards), nine INTs for 116 yards with two TDs, 23 passes defensed, four fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles. Page also gained 38 yards on a fake punt and returned three punts for 55 yards.

Page finished the 2005 season second on the Bruins defense with 72 tackles (53 solo) and added 7.0 stops for loss, an INT, a sack (-9.0 yards), two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. A two-sport athlete, Page has been drafted by three different Major League Baseball organizations; the Milwaukee Brewers (fifth round - 2002), Colorado Rockies (32nd round - 2005) and Los Angeles Angels (seventh round - 2006).

The Oakland, California native was a three-year starter at San Leandro High School in San Leandro, California. He was a second team all-state choice and was selected to play in the 2002 North-South Shrine All-Star Game. Page also lettered three seasons in baseball and basketball.

Good to hear. Sounds like he chose football.
