Is Kansas City ashamed of the Chiefs??

So last night I was watching TV and they had a commercial on for "Come Visit Kansas City". The commercial higlights all the neat stuff in KC, including two mentions of the Royals...I've seen these commercials over the years and they NEVER mention the Chiefs...now, I recognize that it's a summer promotional thing, but damn, last I saw the Football season starts before the end of summer...

It just seems strange to me that over and over again they do NOT mention the Chiefs, but they DO mention the Royals...

...aaaaand I'm done pooping...

I'd say more along the lines of tough to get excited about. Here's the QB from their last playoff victory:

Let's not forget Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac and now Alex Smith.

Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!

The truth is in between.

It's easy to respect the Chiefs past because they're a long standing AFC institution that has a somewhat proud history. And in the present, it's easy to respect the Chiefs because we aren't threatening to large market and/or consistently good teams, but we aren't a total embarrassment either.

**** respect. I'd rather we were feared and hated. I doubt any NE fans really give a shit that the rest of the league and nation doesn't "respect" them. They're too busy drinking champagne from replica SB trophies.

I don't believe Jags fans talk shit at all.

Except for Setsuna, and thankfully he hasn't been around for a while.

Never heard a bad word outside of the season that led to the abortion known as Fisher.

1. I did for a long time.

2. I have friends who are fans of other NFL franchises.

3. In conversations on other boards, even non-AFC West boards, even on non-sports boards, when the Chiefs come up people just act as if they are a joke.

We're a rung above the Raiders/Jags/Browns of the world I'd have to say.

Probably comfortably grouped with the Cincy/Detroit/Panthers scale of national respect maybe?

Drooling tards on message boards don't count. We are viewed as a mediocre franchise as we should be.

On boards... everything is a joke. Most people are the worst version of themselves on boards. In real life when talking about football, not smack talking where everyone is in defend-my-team mode, but just talking about football, the people I talk to consider KC a legit threat... a playoff caliber team.

Sorry, I know you don't want to hear that, but that's been my experience as someone who lives outside of KC. And I'm not discounting your experience either... just hasn't been my own.
