I'm beginning to see why you ranked them that high as long as the QB situation doesn't implode they should have success.
The skins offensive line sucks...that's the problem with portis and their QB's.

I'm also prepared for the Eagles to drop off the map, with the defections and the TO situation. But they've weathered more than this before, reloaded and shocked the heck out of me time and time again. So they're not dropping off my board until they actually implode.

True, a cutback guy like Portis needs a lane. Chris Samuels is really the only guy worth a shit on that line.

Their D is just plain scary though...add Samari Rolle to that team now too...Add Derrick Mason, Clayton, and a healthly Todd Heap and Boller should have a good year.

They should get Jansen back again this year, too. Admittedly, I haven't seen him in action but I thought he had a good reputation at right tackle.

We're a 7-9 team until we prove otherwise.

Although it's ironic how we get the "did they do enough to fix the defense" bit whereas Oakland gets the "whee, 38-35 games rock" quote.

Sometimes I wonder if these guys ever bother to read their own stuff.

I dunno. In baseball, ERA is a much better predictor of future W/L record than the current W/L record is. I'd guess something similar holds for football. When you look at the fundamentals, the Chiefs outgained their opponents yardage-wise. I'd guess that's a pretty good predictor of team strength. I think after an incredibly lucky 2003, the 2004 Chiefs were the same team, just very unlucky. The real team (forgetting about the possible D upgrade for a sec) is somewhere between 13-3 and 7-9.

the Raiders have more to prove than we do. their offense and defense suck`d last year, only our defense suck`d. they improved their "o", we improved our " d". moss isn`t god they still dont have a running game. power polls in may should be kept were they belong. used to wipe one a$$ after a hefty dump.

don't think there's any way to predict. There are too many factors that can have an impact. Injuries to us. Injuries to other teams. Unknown performance (good and bad) by incoming rookies and free agents, again for us and for our opponents. There's just too much that can happen between now and the beginning of the season, much less the end.

My guess would be 11-5 or 12-4. But, hey, I predicted 10-6 or 11-5 last year, and we know how that turned out.
