Gotta love getting carded

I'm still very used to getting carded for alcohol, even though I'll be 30 soon. Well, tonight, I go into a convenience store to pick up a 6-pack. Of course, I get carded. She looks at the ID, then looks at me. The following is our conversation:

Clerk - "You colored your hair."
Me - "Yeah, I highlighted it."
Clerk - "'76, huh?"
Me - "Yep."
Clerk - "How do you say your name?"

I proceed to tell her what my name is. This is the same lady who, a few hours earlier, carded a friend of mine when she bought one $1 lottery ticket.

I know you gotta be careful, but sheesh!

My 41 yr old brother and I both got carded at Buffalo Wild Wings a couple weeks ago. That was amusing.

A few weeks ago I attempted to buy alchohol and the clerk asked for my ID. She said, "83? You're underage." I told her this was the year 2006, therefore I am 22 nearing 23, and she called me a liar. Took her a few minutes to figure out the math. Pissed me off though.

Not complaining. It's just a formality. I've never had anyone question the validity of my ID before, though.

I had a cashier at a liquor store hold my drivers licence and my military ID a few years back.

I have been growing my hair out (still above the ears and collar though... just the top was growing out) and she did not believe that the person in both pictures was me.

She said she knew the mil ID was a fake because servicemen were only allowed to have short cropped hair and she knew this because her brother was a Marine.

Finally I got annoyed and called the local police and they straightened things out for me. I have not been back since.

By the time I started drinking/going to bars I was 23 and had plenty of gray hair. I've never been carded for anything that I can recall.

I'm 35 and still get carded. Not complaining at all. However I hate it when doormen take my DL look at it look at me look back at the DL, hold the DL up to the light then look back at me, then flip the DL over or maybe scratch at it with their fingernail and so on before giving it back. It's happened numerous times. It's like they can't believe my DL is real.

Once I wanted to buy a drink whilst waiting at a restaurant I showed them My KS DL this was in AZ anyway the corner of my DL was bent a little bit and he said he couldn't serve me because of this. At the time I was 27. Rat bastard.

I'm only 24, so I never mind getting carded for booze. The one that hurt my pride a bit is when I got carded to get into an R rated movie. Do I really look 17?

Same thing happened to me. When I was about 24. And my friends who at the time were barely 18 didn't get carded.

I how you feel. I getted carded in R rated movies all the time. I look the part of a teen though while clean shaven.

With a fresh haircut and shave I still get carded once in a while. My grey beard gives it away otherwise...
