This Sox team still just doesn't scare me. Both of these teams have taken turns giving games away.

Give us a lead and 2 shots at it in Boston and I think we get one of them. The Sox still struggle with fastballs and we still have a lot of guys that throw them. Their manager is as dumb as ours is so we're not going to get outfoxed.

Even if they lose tonight, they've still got a shot. Wacha can handle the pressure of the moment in Fenway, he showed that already. And if it gets to a game 7, Peavy is just going to wilt all over again.

Still...odds are much, much better if they win.

We have our two best pitchers fully rested ready to go. Both didn't pitch their best last time out. Room to improve.
Lester has a 4.26 era in night games on the road.
We are 9-1 in elimination games since 2011.

We have been to 4 World Series in 10 years. Won the Divison/League crowns. We are 2 wins away from a 12th WS title.

He's starting the game as it stands right now. Buchholz is in no condition to do so and Doubront is working in relief and will likely pitch again (probably Wednesday) before then as well.

Guarantee you Farrell sticks by him if it gets that far (with a short leash, of course).

Any chance there is an offseason deal in the making? I had that crazy thought before bed wondering why he hasn't been used. Tulo would be nice, carries some risk, but if we think Wacha is the real deal I would pull the trigger on a Miller deal for him. I'll even throw in Descalso and Freese.

In every respect. Adams is no 3B and can't hit lefties anyway, though. Have to hope Freese runs into one somehow.

No doubt, but he wasn't Buchholz last night and unless they have been in witness protection with no media access they should have expected the noodle arm.

Honestly, if we were going to leave here up 3-2, I would rather it be after a win than listen to all the ensuing talk about last year being up 3-1 and blowing it again.
