I guess they wanted this tournament to be competitive. Think what might have happened if they had called a Sweet 16 team to represent the USA. It'd have been a massacre.

Congrats to the all-Kansas team. Didn't even need any other help, right PB? Did it all on their own, yes they did.

So these were the Team University tournaments. These aren't even professional athletes competing on a world stage, but college kids. Got it.
This is the schedule they had to play.... http://www.gwangju2015.com/info/ Congrats on bringing home the gold and beating schools outside the US that likely give less ****s about college basketball than this country does. I bet these guys put their medals on the shelf that holds their bowling trophies they won when they were 7. |

Is this an annual event? What teams have represented the U.S. in the past? This seems about as exciting as the Harlem Globetrotters defeating the Washington Generals.

So it only took the second best college basketball team in the state of Kansas to beat a bunch of semi-competitive Euro league teams?
Awesome. USA basketball still rules the world! Even our 'B' teams dominate Europe. Way to go Jayhawks, take a bow. You've earned it. |
