Anyone have a CETME?

looking to get a new to me rifle and really liked the CETME. .308 pakarised finish nylon stock. Only thing i didnt like was the assbackwards selectfire switch.
I know there are some gun people on this board and wanted to know if you could get one without the backwards selectfire.
Anyone have a CETME or G3? If so what are some of the things i should be watchful for.Mainly if the aftermarket parts are crap and if there is a huge diffrence between one put together here in the states and one built in EU.

Is a CETME a G3 knockoff mfg. in another country like the Gallil is to the AK?

These rifles are assembled using new, original parts and selected U.S. parts so they conform to all U.S. Federal requirements.
The buttstock and handguard are of black synthetic nylon.
All CETME rifles, like the G3, are a roller lock, delay blow back, design with fluted chambers for reliable functioning even in the worst conditions. These are built using a stamped steel receiver, of the newest production run.
The rifle is finished with a baked on gray/black paint just like the H&K process. Comes with 5 rd. mag., spare 20 rd. mag. and pouch.
Barrel: 19.5", Overall: 40 3/4". Weight: 9.7 lbs.
1-20 rd mag, 1-10 rd mag, 1 dual mag pouch.
Shown with options: 20 rd HK mag, sling and loose ammo (not included).
Not legal in CA

Looks just like a G3... CETME must be the 'civilian version' of the rifle. What does the CETME acronym mean?

I want a Steyr AUG, but they are WAY too pricy... looking at $15K

I dont know what it stands for,all i know is it a nice weapon for around 400$. My buddy had one he borrowed to shot and brought it by and it was slick. I just didnt like the selectfire and wondered about the aftermarket parts.
It has the fullauto switch welded in place(no searpin) and wondered if they were all backwards.

$400?! That's dirt cheap. I've purchased Airsoft rifles for more than that.

I'd be wary of that weapon. H&K weapons are typically high quality... if you properly maintain them, they'll last a looooong time. CETME must be some Chinese/Chzech knockoff.

-IMO- CETME is a pretty reliable rifle for the price.

If you have to rely on one to save your bacon,

it`s well worth the x-tra jack to go with the AR-10.

.308 is a great caliber-when you need to reach out and touch someone!

I just want something to play with.And alittle info on if there is a diffrence in quality from US remans vs. EU.

and AR-10 is more than i want to spend plus the .25-06 is plenty to reachout.

I have played with one, but I don`t own one.

I thought about one at the last gun show, but decided to stock up on a few more folding stocks for other toys!

These guys can find out any info you`re looking for, most of them are sharp.

I did alittle research and i guess to get the answer i really need im going to visit the next gunshow.

Bought an old tec-9 w/threaded barrel for my wife from a pawn shop

she loves it. -I prefer .45 acp
