Brodie's first start - predictions

Will Herm take the reigns off Croyle and let him throw throw throw? For the majority of the season we didn't appear afraid to throw on early downs despite playing the noodle-armed, limp-wristed Damon Huard.

I can easily see Herm coming up with a run-first gameplan using tons of tight ends and Jason Dunn clones, and limiting Brodie's throws to third down and an occasional shot downfield on first down. I HOPE we don't do this - it would be suicide against the Colts considering our shitty run blocking. We honestly just need to let Brodie jump in with both feet and let him sink or swim. Interceptions be damned!

I'm guessing we'll see more bootlegs and rollouts, and we saw a bootleg on Sunday against the Donks - Brodie overthrew Tony Gonzalez.

Im thinking he uses the same game plan as Huard but Brodie being how he is, will try to make to many big plays. That being said, im thinking 210 yards passing, 1 td and 2 ints and 3 sacks agaisnt the colts.

We'll have too many 3 & outs to have 40 passing attempts, even if we're down by a lot early.

He'll get a lot of pressure as they try to blitz him like crazy. He'll make some good throws and some bad ones. Overall probably won't be too impressive but it will be something to build on. It will be interesting to see how he handles going on the road against a good team and in a hostile environment.

You'll see a lot of plays out of the shotgun, according to Herm. Croyle is most comfortable in the shotgun.

Actually I dont care what he does, anything is better than the torture we endured during the first 8 1/2 weeks....

I agree. I don't care if we go 4-12, I just want to see what we have in Croyle and if he shows enough positive growth to invest a full year with him as our starter. No matter what, we should get a veteran QB in the offseason to cover our butts.
