My list:
1. Dan Fogelberg. Tops on the list by a long shot. I loved this guy's music. We're all the living legacy of the leader of the band. 2. Ron Carey. There goes my hope for a reunion of Barney Miller. This guy was a good cast member on one of the best TV shows ever. 3. Kurt Vonnegut. To be honest, I've never read a Kurt Vonnegut book, but anybody who survived being an American POW in Dresden during the fire bombings and came out of it sane gets a salute from me. 4. Brad Delp. They were definitely not just another band out of Boston. 5. Miyoshi Umeki. Every kid wants an Asian chick housekeeper, even if she was pretty traditional.

Write-in vote for David Halberstam. One of the few respectable sports writers in the world who tragicaly was killed on his way to interview Y.A. Tittle for a book he was writing on the infamous Colts-Giants NFL Championship Game.

Ah. Nice suggestion. Alas, he'll have to be a write-in.
And luv, are you talking about the backup player whose name I can't recall while intending no disrespect? Or Darrent Williams? Williams died in 2006, I think. Wasn't it New Year's Eve?

I didn't even know that Doherty, DuBrow, Carey, Wagoner, and DeCarlo were dead. Until reading this poll, that is. Buzzkill...

Dammit. How did my sites miss Bishop, Yeltsin, Ringo, Walsh, and McGee? They're indispensible to any dead celebrity list.

1) Evel Knievel-Toughest grittest SOB there ever was.
2) Calvert DeForest-Takes me back to the day when Letterman was at his best. 3) Brad Delp-IIRC it was suicide. Very difficult to understand. 4) Sean Taylor-Senseless. 5)Tom Poston-Because I had to pick 5. I loved Newhart though. |
