Madden 2005 -- funny stuff...

I decided to start a franchise in Madden with the Chiefs and instead of playing the games for the first (2004) season, I would sim them to mimic what has happened in real life.

Right now, I'm starting week 4 at 0-3 and here's a couple of gems.

Chris Bober and Jason Dunn are demanding playing time or a trade.

But these are the funniest:

I checked my Advisors screen and amongst other things, they're saying "The sports radio shows are ripping the team new one" and "We've got cap room. Now's not the time to be frugal."

A freaking video game is smart enough to figure it out, but the braintrust at 1 Arrowhead Drive isn't?

I think perhaps we should start a separate NCAA thread. BTW, I just got Madden in the mail. I played one game last night against my son. He was the Eagles and I was the Chiefs, of course. I won. I didn't change any of the default settings yet.

Here are my initial observations:
- It's hard to run, defense just seems to always be keying on Priest.
- The blitzes are faster than in the past, which is a good thing, IMO.
- I still hate the kick meter.

If you can drop back your dlineman on a punt return you can use him as a lead blocker, not like the AI ever runs a fake

I used to do that a lot with NCAA 04. Only not with a dlineman because they are too slow. I would use one of the guys on the outside that are blocking the gunner. Heck, the gunner always gets around the 2 guys blocking him anyways.

I've tried taking one of the outside blockers back to help but I can never get him lined up with a gunner, which means not only are they running free like every other time, but I don't have time to switch to the return man and call a fair catch.

FYI, that's why your players are progressing out of control...

73-0 in an NFL game is nothing close to reality. You should've changed your settings a long time ago. How can you even continue to play when it's so easy for you?

Kinda, confused on how to set these's settings up, is yours on the computer or on PS2, cause i have PS2 and i need some pretty good settings, and see i've tried going over 10 and when i get to 10 im maxed so i cant go over to 16 or 20, so are you on a different platform ?
