You know what? Back in the day, when people like KCWolfman and others perused Chiefsplanet on a daily basis, I engaged in similar topics, generally on the side of the artist, composer, actor and actress. After trying, for years and years, for the studio and music heads to see the "future", I gave up.

It was a fruitless fight, one based on my passion for music, film and the arts. Only "they" couldn't see it.

These days (very sadly) I say get it while you can.

I apologize; I don't remember what your original screen name was at that time and I'm sure you're all too familiar with my historical views on piracy.

FWIW, "Hollywood" isn't at fault; it's your local movie theater (or theater chain). Tickets out here are at least $14.00 per person - it's the theater charging the price, not the studio. Otherwise, the ticket fee would be the same nationwide, like DVD prices at BestBuy, Blockbuster, Circuit City, etc.

There's many factors involved and I'm certainly NOT trying to defend anyone for the current prices. But studios alone aren't to blame for the current ticket prices. Just so you know.

I like waiting until they become the not-so-new releases. I can go see them for $2.50 at The Palace here in Springfield. They play movies that are not in the theaters anymore, but not yet out on DVD.

Really? Well it seems to ME that this thread has been about the music business. Also, people have had legitmate questions about the music industry and music licenses. Can you accurately engage in that conversation? How does that have anything to do with "Hollywood"? Where did I even state that "Hollywood" was even part of the conversation?

As a six year member of this community, should I not only be ABLE to correct such misconceptions displayed in this thread, but shouldn't I be RESPONSIBLE for doing so?
