PC Speakers

I'm looking to buy some PC speakers. I run a laptop and docking station, and I've just been living with the laptop speakers.

I don't need anything crazy, fancy, or expensive. I looked on Amazon and got bombarded with a ridiculous amount of non-applicable products. I tried to refine the search some, and got frustrated and quit. Went to staples, same shit.

So I decided to turn to CP as you guys haven't ever led me astray. Do you have any recommendations for basic PC speakers?

I'm seeing a lot of speakers through USB. Is that the thing to do? The docking station has an audio out port.

I got this set and it was more than enough for games, mid-level music, etc.

Just ordered it. Thanks. There is a pile of nonsense to sift through. It's just speakers FFS. I probably should have just went to radio shack and not ****ed around with looking.

You will be pleasantly surprised.

I needed something that could reproduce sound, and they went beyond that. Decent bass, ample mids and highs. The remote volume is very convenient.

I was waiting to respond until I got home, but it looks like you're all set.

I know a lot of folks that have the M-Audio monitors and like them a lot, but they're a good deal more than what you found.

But saying "just speakers"? The 14 year old version of yourself is disappointed.

Holy shit, I haven't bought speakers in like 14-15 years. I have an Altec Lansing AVS500 system that still sounds good. My wife received the same system as recommended in this thread from her mom a few years back and it plays sound.
