Last night they finally dropped in the ratings after a couple of strong Fridays. I think it was more about what was on the other networks, but if the show has more lackluster episodes like that one, I can see enough of us tuning out that it won't be renewed.

If it does get cancelled, what scripted series would Fox have left that were introduced since Fringe debuted?

Before long they're not going to have much left but reality shows and the eventual Glee spinoffs.

This is Fox we're talking about though, so Fringe will be canned. It's a miracle it lasted this long...

Hopefully we'll be given an accelerated wrap up of the arc. It was criminal to see good ideas (IMO) like Dollhouse and Jericho treated that way, but it was better than nothing.

I'd like to know what's up with Sam Weiss... The way they portrayed him in the last episode, makes you think he's got much more knowledge than he's letting on. He knows a bunch about both worlds somehow. I'm not sure that he's human... or at least not a normal human like the rest..

I thought that was easily the most interesting part of the episode. Who is he and how/why does he know so much?

I can't even remember the last time we saw him.

The last time we saw Sam was in "Olivia. In the lab. With the revolver". Great show title.

I'm thinking he's one of the "First People". Maybe a time-traveling refugee, or possibly he's from another parallel world where the First People never went extinct.

Speaking of Sam: the Chalkboard in Walternate's lab in "Over There Pt. II" had an anagram on it:

"A DEMONS TWIST RUSTS"

which can resolve to:

"DON'T TRUST SAM WEISS".

Actually, I thought about that. I'm thinking he's either a First Person or a retired/rogue observer.

The fact that they have another story line involving an observer who's having Vulcan like emotion issues, it wouldn't surprise me on the observer angle.

After looking like a fairly successful Friday transplant just a month ago, ratings for FOX's "Fringe" have continued to slip, though the network remained in a three-way tie for the night in the all-important demographic.
