The abortion that is the Pittsburgh Pirates
I don't follow baseball much. I'm a casual fan who once in a while checks in to see how my favorite team, the Pirates are doing. (I went to a Pirates game as a wee lad. That's the only reason why.) I don't pretend to understand baseball and lord knows I can't sit through an inning in front of the TV without being bored out of my mind. But, there's nothing else in June/July going on between the Penguins playoff run and Chiefs training camp hits....and the Pirates distract me long enough. I know they've sucked for the last 16 years with consecutive losing seasons and morale is low, but why is it every season the Pirates trade away what little talent they do have to the Red Sox/Yankees/Cubs/big name teams and get next to nothing in return? It's like they're a AAAA team. It's mindboggling.

No offense, but there are a lot of Royals fans on this board who aren't going to have much empathy for Pirates fans.
