Do you see what happens when teams actually have depth at CB?

Look at Atlanta tonight, lost their pro bowl corner so Dunta Robinson has stepped up and played nicely. To make matters worse Asante Samuel gets hurt and is out for a series, what happens? Robert Mcclain, the 4th string cb makes a highlight reel INT.

Are you watching Mr. Pioli?

Arenas is worthless, the only thing I have seen him do is get pancaked by offensive lineman.

How in the hell can you take a cb that can only play corner in the Nickel formation in the second round

Arenas isn't worthless. He'd be a good 4th corner.

I have no idea why ppl think we have defensive back depth....wtf ? Do you ppl not watch the games? Do you just assume a guy like Arenas and brown will be good just cuz they are drafted in earlier rounds

Do people honestly look at NFL teams across the league and think their #4 and #5 CBs are good? The way people talk, you'd think teams have Revis as their 4th stringer.

Funny thing, the Jets do have a 1st round pick that is their 3rd corner. The Giants as well. So...

the problem is Arenas ACTUALLY plays 50 percent of the game because we sit in Romeo's stupid nickel and sub packages. So when teams call run/draw/reverse/anything that isnt a pass, they attack Arenas because he has no idea how to stop the run, seal an edge, tackle, shed a block, etc

He's awful and he plays a lot. Don't act like Arenas is just dept that never sees the field. he's practically a starter and a lot of NFL teams are solid from CBs 1-3 in a pass happy league.

We are not one of them

In this defense you need a good run stopping CB in that nickel or sub package that can assist in those run calls offenses like to take the match up of doing. CJ Spiller was blowin us up on those draws and our CBs were getting shit on in the run game because of it.

Well we aren't talking about finding pro bowl 4th and 5th corners, we are talking about finding defensive backs that can come in the game and do a solid job if need be

we had one, ONE that they moved to ****ing FS

seriously whoever that magical idea was (I assume Pioli, the man behind the curtain), should be ****ing fired. Because it's by far one of the shittiest ideas in the last 4 years of the regime.

That and playing Berry at the phantom LBer spot. They are both up there for awful player personnel decisions. Just stupid to not play these guys at their natural positions and trying to to be smarter than our crappy coaching and GMing is. Sign a ****ing real FS and sign a real LBer that can cover. Imagine those concepts you dumb **** GM.

I really wonder if Berry would be back at SS if Menzie was healthy. I think he was drafted for that position to move Eric back to SS.

It's not a bad scheme if you think another safety is better than another LB. Of course, because we play so much man out of it, you had better be able to get pressure and have a nickel who can play against the run. Arenas hasn't shown the ability to do that.

we dont have the talent or playmakers to do any of this. And until Pioli gets them, we never will.

It worked in New England because they had a ****ing DT that could blow up the line and push ****ers into the QB and/or stop the run in that package as well. We dont have that.
