Just found out my dog has cancer of the blood
Had him for about 4 years. He has had bad leg for about a month. So far so good. My last dog lasted 2 weeks after being diagnosed. Just found out.

He is almost 8 yrs this started about a month ago and vet has been saying it might cancer since then. But since he is a pure breed basset we hoped for the best and it was only a sprained knee. My wife decided to spend the money to figure out if this was something else last week. I didn't know that at least bassets have lymph nodes in their back legs around their knee. The vet wants to remove it and get it tested and do x-rays to see if it has spread. So far he is in no pain just limping on 3 legs. Decisions, decisions. So far this is the most expensive dog I have ever had since childhood, just in the last month. My last dog was a lab and he went down hill fast he was only around 10 yrs.

He is still fighting at this point. But don't know for how much longer. I have him several things to fight this. But the wife is not back till sunday because of her hours

Yeah... something seems fishy about the number of young dogs succumbing to lymphoma. I've had two border collies die from it right around age 7 & my neighbor down the block had the exact thing happen to his golden. Damn good dogs, too. Pisses me off bigtime that they went so early.
