Have a friend she is finally ready to stop being abuse and divorce her husband. Any good laywers you all have used?

She wants a cutthroat. She does not have a lot of money and been hiding it because he spends it on games, beer and weed.

If she doesn't have a lot of money, I wouldn't count on her being able to afford a cut-throat lawyer. Even if she can afford it, there won't be much left over. It is a crappy situation. I wish her the best.

I would think the opposite would be better. You want as little income as possible at the time of divorce – all alimony and child support payments will be based on that.

She has a job. Problem is she makes squat. I manage to guide her into saving about 800bucks so far.and her parents are going to help out. But i know of no good lawyers.

Unless they have children she isn't going to get shit. Since she has a job, and from all looks of things neither are probably not high wage earners I'd count out alimony as well. Alimony really is a thing of the past in the vast majority of cases.

If she wants a divorce that's fine. If she wants to make the court her personal vindictive battlegrounds she has another thing coming. No judge tolerates that shit in their courtroom. Agree to split up bills and assets and move the **** on. Nothing worse in divorce proceedings than someone who wastes the courts time on trivial bullshit.

There is a child. He makes 4x the money and own multiple vehicle's. I have had her documenting stuff for awhile. Figured more the better like his voicemails, texts, doctors notes. I have no idea about divorce stuff.

Missouri and Kansas are no-fault divorce for a long time.

Do they have kids? Do they own a house or have their own cars?

What kind of abuse are you talking about?

Abuse and misconduct could affect the property division and custody determinations in a contested case, but IMO, people getting divorces have little idea how the judges who have a lot of these cases to deal with, really care more about signing a final decree that seems fair than judging one of the spouses to be a worse person than the other one.

It has to be serious abuse and misconduct, to defeat presumptions of equal custody and parenting time and equal property division.

Sounds like he has the means to hire a better attorney than her. Child support is pretty much cut and dry. Both will fill out a domestic relations child support worksheet where all incoming and outgoing money in the relationship is determined. Child support will be determined on those amounts through an already established formula.
