Most Impressive Play In Chiefs History
After the "most pathetic play" thread (which I still believe I won), it's time for us to examine the most impressive feats Chiefs players have committed on the field.
Now keep in mind: this is not a discussion of significant plays, i.e. merely good plays that won us games, or 50-yard kicks that won us games, etc. I don't care about the result of the games, or the season. And while Derrick Thomas' 7 sacks in a game is one of the most outstanding achievements in sports, it's 7 separate plays. This thread is about one play. All I care about is the most physically and/or mentally spectacular play you have seen a Chief perform that blew your goddamn socks off. I can't name one for this. I have seen quite a few. The Dante Hall ultra-juke against the Donkeys is probably the most physically impressive I've seen. Derrick Johnson's rodeo-sack of Ben Roethlisberger was A-MAZING. Johnathan Baldwin catching the ball behind Dawkin's back was re-****ing-diculous. That's such a ridiculous play you can't even do that on video games. Tony Gonzalez once caught a ball across the middle against the Chargers back when Huard was QB, I think it was 2006, and dragged five Chargers about twenty yards before finally going down. Beat those. |

Yeah, the first one that popped into my head was Dante Hall's juke move that sent two Donkeys crashing into each other as he went down the sideline into the end zone.

Don't have any specific play, but I just remember several times absolute bullets being thrown over Tony G's head and he'd go over the defender at the last possible moment and just snatch them out of the air with his fingertips. Since they were bullets, I suppose you have to go back to probably Trent Green to find one.

Still, all things being equal, the majority of Dante Hall's runbacks leap to mind. The one mentioned in the OP is probably the most notable. |

I think the Dante Hall punt return against the Donks was the best

He may have meant the kickoff return against the broncos that he dropped back reversed field and then scored

I think you meant to say Derrick Thomas' seven sacks on Dave Kreig in one game.
Big plays I can think of: 1969: Len Dawson in Oakland: Hits a streaking Otis Taylor down the Raider Sideline for a 50 yard bomb from deep in his own end zone with Ben Davisdon hanging all over him. 1970: Taylor breaking the tackle to score and put Super Bowl IV away. Taylor not being in the pro football HOF is a crime. 1971: Taylor one handed catch for a TD in KC over Washington with Pat Fisher draped all over him. 1985: Stephone Paige gains 309 receiving in one game vs. San Diego. 1995: James Hasty's 64 yard interception return beats the Raiders in Arrowhead in OT. 1995: Marcus Allen plunges over Denver defense in the snow, beat Broncos in Denver 21-7. 1995: Vanover returns a punt 86 yards in OT to beat San Diego 29-23. 1997: Stoyanovich 54 yard game ending FG beats Denver 24-22. 2002: Cleveland "Helmet Gate." Dwayne Rudd throws his helmet, allows a last second field goal for a Chiefs 39-37 win. 2006: Larry Johnson last second 1 yard 4th down TD plunge beats Oakland 17-13. 2010: Opening night of rebuilt Arrowhead, final goal line stand to beat San Diego 21-14 in the rain. |

Can't ever forget, the first tackle Greg Wesley made in a game at Arrowhead. He hit that guy so hard it shook the place, and then there was a few seconds of silence in the crowd waiting for the player to get up, and after he rose slowly, the crowd went insane. Quite an introduction to a new player.
