New ''Fargo'' series coming to FX- starring Saul Goodman, Slingblade, & Watson

This is the first I've even heard about this project. Obviously a 1 time thing as it says, because I can't see Odenkirk being able to juggle this and Better Call Saul , and Billy Bob I'm sure isn't looking to move away from doing movies- or at least severely limiting his availability and freedom to do other projects.

Definitely very interested in this - especially when the Coen brothers are involved with it.

Billy Bob Thornton, Bob Odenkirk star in first images from ‘Fargo’ miniseries

BY JOSH HILL - JAN 17TH, 2014 AT 12:18 PM

Last year, it was announced that the Coen Brothers, who were snubbed in the worst kind of ways at the Oscars this year, were going back to the well to reinvent and retell their classic movie Fargo. The film is being retold as a limited series on FX and we have gotten our first look at the cast from the series.

The series stars Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman and Bob Odenkirk among a slew of other film actors making their way to the miniseries.

Fans initially had reservations about the idea of a television series based on Fargo, but once word that the Coen Brothers were involved leaked out, a lot of people began to jump on board.

Fargo is perhaps the Coen’s most well known and well respected film as it won them their first Oscar and was the film that put them on the map. They followed up the film with an Oscar win for Best Picture and Best Director in 2006 for No Country for Old Men.

But Fargo remains their most iconic work and that bode well for the appeal and the care that will be taken with the television series.

Holy shit. I don't usually get excited about spinoffs to great movies, but this kind of a cast would make it work.

If I were picking the perfect 'stretch' role for the Original Tim/Jim and the best John Hamish Watson, I'd never think to resurrect the Coen's brilliant Fargo.

This worries me like the 2013-2014 Jaywhawk BB team, it can only disappoint, while promising unprecedented joy daily.

First thought, how could it go wrong?
Second, how could it go as right as it has?

This basically just showed the setup of the movie. How do they expand that out to a full series?
