This is not the first time...
For those of you who are not long time Chiefs fans, there was another tragic murder-suicide back in 1980 involving a Chiefs player. Jim Tyrer, who was an All-Pro tackle for the Chiefs, played his last game in KC in 1973. In 1980, he was having serious money troubles, and shot his wife dead, then killed himself, in his KC home with all four of his kids in the house.

That was very shocking in 1980. Tyrer wasn't an active player when he did this, but he was one of the Chiefs solid building block players, kind of like Will Shields or Tim Grunhard during his era. He protected Len Dawson's blind side.

Chiefs have certainly had their share of tragedy. We've had Stone Johnson, Mack Lee Hill, Derrick Thomas, Joe Delaney, Jim Tyrer and now this.

BTW: Tyrer is in the Chiefs HOF. His murder/suicide happened seven years after he left the team. It's probably kept him out of the pro football HOF. He was deserving, as is Ed Budde and Otis Taylor, of consideration.

I bought my first home in OP from an estate after an elderly couple did a murder suicide. Apparently they were heavy smokers and both had cancer so the old man decided to end it for the both of em one night


Nobody wanted to buy it so I got it for cheap
