Will Charles hold out for a better contract?

Jamal is going to be paid a paltry $2.5 million in 2014. Thats not a typo. $2.5 million. One of the best running backs with 2-3 years left of prime time in his career..........I'm sure his agent is whispering in his ear. The Chiefs know its an insulting salary to pay one of the best RB's in the league.

You can say he signed it, play the contract out. But, its the real world.

NFL RB's that hold out always, always get their money. The template is clear. If Charles would set out a year, he loses $2.5 Million. You think he doesn't make that up in a new contract next year.

Anyone want to bet that the Chiefs give Charles a new contract this off season to avoid a nasty contract fight?

No, you don't give him 5 years of top 5 RB money with a signing bonus. Redo the contract, increase it by two years to 2016. Just increase the money for the next 3 years. Give him another $10 million signing bonus.

Well said. And the best years of a RB are the first 5. From here on out to give JC a new big ass contract would be stupid now that he has already endured a serious knee injury and especially now that 'concussions' are the way of the future and make it even more difficult for a player to complete a 16 game schedule(whether it is legit or the player is faking it because he wants a few days off-which you know that is already happening to some degree now and will only get worse). I'm not saying JC faked this at all and think he has great character BUT you saw the play he went out on and JC was barely touched if at all and it was a simple hard fall to the ground. Would you give this guy a big ass contract after that?

He has two years on his contract, not just one. Sitting out would effect both of those years. As has been pointed out his contract is incentive laden.

Fisher has to step up. We can't afford Albert or draft picks for O-line tackles. Stephenson and Fisher have to be our O-line tackles.

If he asks them, I think they would. And as for having two years left. Yeah, Desean Jackson just asked to have his contract redone. He just signed it two years ago.
