['Hamas' Jenkins]

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

It is, but he needs to work on his mechanics. He threw almost everything off his back foot in the SC game, and as a result his deep balls floated up like coffin corner punts.

He does. Fortunately, he has three years to work on that. I do think that the whole throwing off the back foot thing is over-blown in general, though. That is something that nearly every QB does.

I am more concerned with his tendency to pump fake and still lock on to that receiver as well as him making late reads and trying to use velocity to "catch up". That leads to those throws that hit defenders in the chest. Fortunately, because they are thrown so hard, defenders tend to drop them.

His style, both on and off the field, reminds me of Manziel. Manziel is on his own planet, but my hope is that a junior/senior Mauk is similar to a freshman/sophomore Manziel...and it's not THAT unreasonable given what Maty has shown so far.

I do like the size/speed he'd offer. Still seems strange to me that we're chasing the #15 ranked kid in Kansas, but I like the talent.

Maybe I was just being too optimistic on what the SEC would do for Mizzou. Or maybe I am being too impatient. It just seems to me like this is exactly where we were 8-10 years ago on the recruiting trail.

I suppose, but those recruits did pretty well in 2007.

All accounts are that this kid is really blowing up and has been the best player at the camps he's been to. When a player signs early, the scouting services tend to stop paying as much attention to him and don't update their evaluations like they do for undecideds.

Notre Dame and Michigan just made offers to Jhonathon Williams.

He was a 'find' from the Mizzou coaching staff; 6'6'' 230 lb DE that runs a 4.5; pretty hellacious athlete.

Hoping we hold onto him, but that's going to be some stiff competition for a Michigan kid.

Scantlebury says that four star offensive lineman Andy Bauer commits to Mizzou. Had previously been committed to Ole Miss
