Is 2005 a lame duck year for the Chiefs?
With Vermeil stating he will retire next year, CP being in the last year of his contract and Vermeil giving his coaching staff the blessing to leave if they wish, is 2005 a lame duck year for the Chiefs?
If you were a defensive free agent why would you want to come to KC? You would have to move your family and you would have little job security with a new coach and perhaps new GM at the end of your first year. Plus, it's Kansas City and the team/town hasn't always been able to attract the bigger free agents (not that that is always a bad thing). |

If I were a defensive free agent I probably wouldn't want to come here anyway.

I'm beginning to think that it is.
Honestly, I don't care anymore. I was ready for a COMPLETE rebuild about 1996. I'm more than ready for it now. |

But OTOH, maybe they'll rally around the "win one for DV in his last go-round" mantra. |

If we are going to rebuild in 2006, I really hope no high dollar FA's come to KC next season. Clear the books out and start over from scratch.
In fact, I almost wish we were going to to that this season. JMO. |
