Sean Taylor shot, in critical condition

Apparently fighting for his life after being shot during a home invasion.

Well his dad is a cop....I just think that story got blown up. "OMG he is a thug" "OMG he went to Miami and he's black he's a thug!"

Just like how he has a machete if he cut up some guy who broke in his house people would probably say he was a thug for that too.

Yeah, I figure you can't go wrong with a machete. Well, unless the other guy's got a gun.

When I was in my 20s, I ended up with a crossbow as a kind of fluke event. Let me tell you, it would be a very bad thing to be on the receiving end of a crossbow. I couldn't believe how powerful that thing was.

I think most of Chiefsplanet is on record saying that we would chuckle at seeing an intruder getting chopped up in a malicious manner. I know that I don't have a problem with it.

You know this headline could have read "Sean Taylor slices man to pieces" seeing as it says he has a machete for protection....I wonder how everyone would be responding to that. "What a thug he cut that guy up"
Heh. What if his dad was the coach of the Eagles.... or the preacher? or the mayor? or the president?

Sometimes the children of those in a position of authority are the biggest thugs out there. Sometimes I think you just love to argue.

It is a bit ridiculous to imply he got what he deserved based a few stories that really aren't even that bad.

I bet the shooter was one of Andy Reid's kids. They're division rivals, you know.

It seems a bit ridiculous to infer that one has implied that he got what he deserved when the only inference I observed was that people weren't surprised he was the one involved. Trouble just seems to follow some people around, it would seem.

But come on. Seriously, how many burglaries involve the burglars kicking down doors and shooting the homeowner? (See story in Post 66.) That is not the modus operendi of run-of-the-mill burglars, of whom 99.99 percent will run at the first sign of trouble, and it's not like those guys were cornered or anything. It's exceedingly rare for someone to randomly break into a house and start shooting at a random homeowner on an offensive basis.

If he is an innocent victim, it would be more likely to be a kidnapping attempt or something, but who wants to kidnap a nasty and aggressive strong safety?

Nah. I'll play the odds here. I'll be really surprised if he doesn't know why it happened. He'll probably never tell, but I'll bet he knows.
Yeah, that was pretty slick how you put in some "articulate negro" Redskins to show that you are not an angry white guy.

Looks like Taylor's only brush with the law that led to any plea or conviction is for going after people that he thought had stolen property from him.

Last week, when 61 y/o Mr Horn, caucasian neighbor, intentionally killed two black burglars over somebody else's property you thought it was splendid and took the old fool's side.

I guess it is funny to you that Sean Taylor was shot in a "drug deal gone bad" or from "pistol-whipping" somebody.

Taylor may have been targetted but that does not mean that it was because of who his friends are, it might just be who his enemies are.

You have been posting hateful stuff in recent crime threads about taxes and other nonsense. Either you have been a victim of a crime personally or you are not making as much money as you would like and want to blame anonymous people for what is wrong with your society.

Anyway, just because you are popular here, does not mean that you need to post small minded angry white guy nonsense. If the economy is not where you would like it to be, that is probably due to a lot more factors than the pathology of black people.

Maybe you ought to give church a try.

Zoicks. If jettio was an intruder in my house, I'd be shooting him right about now.

Who is really the angry white guy here, jettio? Who?

Noted: I can edit last line to read.

Maybe you ought to hang out with some Lutherans.

You are. You posted some nonsense about having to pay the hospital bills of some punk that got shot in Westport when he was trying to rob some people. Normal people don't think about stupid sh*t like that.

If you want to waste your time crying about that, maybe you ought to design a better health care system than one that leaves you blaming the people who cannot afford health insurance for all your woes.

Lutherans? If Martin Luther started banging on my door, I'd shoot him and I'd feel good about it.

So tell me, how can I say, "When I heard that a Redskin had been shot, my first guess was that it was Sean Taylor, out of a team of 53 guys of whom 85 percent are black, and I was right" and have you conclude that it's racist? If I was racist, wouldn't I only have a 1 in 40 shot of being right?

Frankly, I think it's racist to assume that any negative statement made about a member of a minority group is racist. Such an attitude stereotypes race above individuality.

Just for the record, I always side with the homeowner, and I personally wish that Sean Taylor was feeding those criminals' body chunks to his koi right now. It doesn't change my hunch that Sean was the guy who was involved, though, and that's a very different thing.
