Falcon Defense?
Someone who knows alot of details. could you please explain the falcon defense and when we used it and what is the benefit?

IIRC, it basically was stick DT out there to sack the passer... that's about it. Let DT get after the QB.

so it was a base 4-3 with dt out on the side of a de? was dt the 3rd backer or was he a lineman?

Are you familiar with the box & 1 defense in basketball?
Same concept. DT was the 1. It was a 3-4 hybrid that put DT's hand on the ground wherever he wanted on the line, most frequently from the edges. |

Ironically in 1995 and 1997, DT only had 8 and 9.5 sacks. I remember there were alot of people at the time that didnt think DT was very good when he lined up in the Falcon.
