Food everyone else loves, but you think is overrated

Just thinking about foods that everyone else seems to think is the greatest thing ever, and you just don't get...

Me: Nutella. I'd never tried it until today when someone at the grocery store had samples of those little snack packs. So I tried it. It's not bad, but it's certainly overrated.

So I'm trying to think of other things like this. What do you have for me?

There's nothing wrong with mayo on a burger. It's a good bonding element for the lettuce, onion and bun on the bottom.

Tomato and cheese on top.

OK, fair enough. Now there are the other 98.98236% who do just like to think it makes them either look tough, or like somebody that has a cultured palate or something like that.

I don't care for it, but on top of that any kind of fatty element like mayo or cheese will block the bun from getting soggy from tomatoes or burger juice.

ya know what's a good bonding agent for lettuce, onion, and the bun on the bottom? GREASE! or, MORE CHEESE! NOT Mayo!

Save the mayo for your wonder bread sammich

I have had a Pappy Van Winkle at a friends 15 yo was very good but to rich for my blood. If I may try a Buffalo Trace its from the same family tree and is a wonderful bourbon at a steal of a price.

Pat and Geno's in Philly is a good example. They used to be much better but they have both gone down hill. Tony Luke's is much better.

I wouldn't be surprised that with the popularity they have cut some corners without suffering sales. 90's is a long time ago.....

Inbound long rambling post...

In-n-Out is just your standard greasy bullshit fare, it's popularity is only due to the non-availability of it (don't push the red button) and due to the ridiculous American "sheeple" effect. Wondering if you're a sheep? Do you consider Fat Tire/PBR to be good beer? Then you have no taste and only listen to what people tell you. I would say Good Times/Sonic are both superior to In/out.

Chick-fil-a is just your average garbage run of the mill place. Waffle fries were a decent surprise though.

Seafood, especially shrimp. Mmmm-mmmm-mmm smells delicious doesn't it? Yeah, take of whiff of your wife's pig-panties on period week, smell delicious? You're disgusting. Sushi is just not that good of food, anyone who says differently is a trendy liar.

Bacon- Cool, you found out about the internet this week bro? Awesome, bacon everything dude! Sausage tastes better and you get a lot more volume per fatness serving, plus biscuits and gravy dummy.

Beer- Basically see bacon. Beers! Chive on bro! Date Rape! Not that good of a beverage. Occasional winter stouts or summer ales can hit the spot, but I don't understand people that drink 6-10 and aren't full and tired. So heavy, plus with the calories you could have gotten stoned and eaten 2-3 bacon cheeseburgers drove home and felt like a million dollars the next day, good choice though buddy!

Steak- Not that good of food. It has a gross chewy consistency (rare or well-done), is surrounded by pure fat, and generally is way over-hyped in today's society. Added bonus of getting animal tendons/various body parts stuck in your teeth, awesome! Anything off an Indian, Italian, or even a Mexican menu will taste better and require more skill to prepare. Kids don't like it because it's pretty shitty in general and they haven't been conditioned by society for 30+ years to think it's tasty.

Wings- Are shit, can I get some undercooked meat straight out of Tyson's death chamber with a side of tendons and ligaments in my teeth? Sweet bro. Shit food item.

Grits- Cool bro, you grew up eating tasteless corn diarrhea? Guess what, another shit food item. I am always amazed when I have the grit convo with dumb southerners, it's almost as if you fed them bowls of pig shit as a kid they would continue to eat it as adults, amazing. Lose by a country mile to the superiority of breakfast potatoes/hash browns, yet southern dummies still continue to order it.

Little harsh on the grits. Not at all a favorite but Chedder Grits is pretty good. When our offices were near Hallmark Cards on raindays id go have Breaky and sometimes lunch at the Crown Employees cafe with my Sister who worked there. They had excellent food. She asked you like grits and I had basically your reaction. She told me to try there chedder grits and holy hell it made a world of difference was pretty darn good.
