Jacksonville at Kansas City: Both of these teams need the Jets, Bengals and Titans to all lose for this game to mean something. It's startling that a team as good as the Jaguars will miss the playoffs. The Chiefs are still feeling good about beating the Raiders for the eighth straight time. Kansas City has begun contract extension negotiations with RB Larry Johnson. Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards would like to blow-up the roster much like the Saints did last off-season and build towards the future. Even though he said Trent Green will be his starter next season, Green will have to take a salary cut and change his ways in order to keep his job.

My guess is that means he's going to have to start making shorter drops and getting the ball out quicker.

I think that depends on how Hermie intends to blow up this roster and how Carl feels kids like Pollard, Page, Webb, Stallings and Niswanger can compete.

Carl "blew up" the roster when he thought that Edwards, Woods, Tongue, and Browning were ready.

I don't think that's necessarily true.

That Rams game he took over for Warner in '99(?), he was getting the ball out quick.

I've always felt that Green was limited by his receiver's inabilty to get separation quickly.

Two thoughts here.

First, I really think that Trent could have learned one thing from watching Huard.
When nothing opens up right away, just throw the ball in Tony's direction.
He'll make play on the ball for you.

Second, if Jarrett comes out early, I hope that he somehow falls to us, as the result of poor offseason workouts, or for any other reason.

I'd take a flyer on Justin Harrell in te second.
