['Hamas' Jenkins]

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

It is a big deal but its not a miracle or something crazy. If we are gonna play at the big boy table then lets act like we are meant to be there. It would be different if we were winning the SEC. I realize that those are on a neutral field.

Here what Gabe DeArmond has to say about it & I tend to agree:

"You're DAMN right those kids better storm the field. Act like you've been here before? You haven't. Who knows when you will be again? If you're a student, you get your ass down on that field and you celebrate with a team that has a chance to go down as the best in the history of your school. Because there are going to be about 60 thousand NON-students there who have waited their whole lives to see a game like this, a team like this. And if you're 20 years old, outside of last season, you've been pretty spoiled by Missouri football. You probably don't know where it was when I was a freshman, losing to Tulsa, or when my sister was a freshman, when games like a whitewashing by Kansas State still earned nicknames like Route 66 and had the coach's wife on the sidelines screaming at players, or when most of this board was in school when the season was likely to be in the neighborhood of 2-9 but as long as those two were kansas and Kansas State, everybody was okay.

So, yeah, you get your liquid-courage-enhanced ass down on that field and you party like it's the biggest win in school history. Because if it happens, it is. And then you call mom and dad whenever you happen to drag yourself out of bed in the morning and you say, "You know what I want for Christmas? A plane ticket and a cheap ass hotel room in Atlanta next Saturday night because my team's playing in the second biggest game of the college football season. And if they happen to win that one and they get just a little bit of help, then I want the same thing in Pasadena next month."

And then, after this one, you never storm the field again because, well, you have been there before and it is a little bit beneath you. But tonight, you do it. Make no mistake, you do it."
