Am I wrong, or should we be rooting for Alex this year?

So, the Chiefs gave up their 27 this year in round one. And a hypothetically placed round one next year. Plus a third. In this one instance, we need Alex to excel as it lessens the burden on the front office for next years draft. Were the Chiefs to tank, then Buffalo could end up with the number 1 pick next year, and the first pick in the 3rd round. Whereas if the Chiefs win, Buffalo's new picks are late round or worst, 32 overall, and we bitch a little bit less about Mister Smith.

Win Win?

Spoiler!

No, that's not really how it goes. This team will be significantly different than it is now in 3 years. The guts of this team are all in the 28 years old range. Berry, Houston, Maclin, Kelce and Schwartz will all play this season at 28 or 29 years old. That's their prime. Obviously Hali, DJ and Smith are older still.

Sure, there are young guys behind them but when those guys are running the show, that's a new team. That's a new 'window'. The window on this team will close much faster than you think. They can't be pissing away a year because that's how you end up as the Bengals. "Well we didn't expect to be there this year. We didn't expect to be there this year. We thought we'd get there this year but hey, next year's our year. Oh shit...we might suck now...."

You cannot backslide in this league. Time is far too precious of a commodity.
Call me a homer but with John Dorsey I don't see a window.

Old players like Parker, Alex, Maclin, DJ and Tamba already have that next rein of talent ready to take over. Peters, Ford, Tyreek and Jones have all proven to be very talented players in the next wave. I feel like Kelce is part of the new wave since TE's have consistently (and still) shown that they can play at a high level to their mid 30's.

The job Dorsey has done is truly phenomenonal and it's awesome to k ow that a scout like him can draft players every year to play well and help our cap.

Of course, if he has a good year then so do the Chiefs. If he has a good year then he is worth more in trade when Mahomes takes over. You don't cheer against your team.

, i changed it so it wouldn't be so difficult to read. and to be clear from another post, i am not wishing for the chiefs to tank. i hope the chiefs win the super bowl, with alex or not. my op was more to the point that people are wishing ill on alex, when doing so would not be in the best interest of the franchise this year, or next really.

the difficult part is balancing an alex super bowl win with what to do with him after. it would be a trent dilfer redux and i would fear a dwayne bowe like contract extension.

Why the **** wouldn't you root for Alex? Rooting for him and the Chiefs is practically synonymous.

You'd think everyone's bitching and moaning would stop after we finally did what everyone wanted - draft a QBOTF.

But no, it just continues.

Just shut the **** up, Mahomes will eventually start, we will get what we want. But in the mean time appreciate the stability and culture Andy/Alex have established here from the garbage Haley/Cassel left. Alex did his job, he did it well, and now he has his final send off this year, and that's that.

That's the foundation of everything I've been saying for years now, and the same twatwaffles give me no end of shit about sucking Alex's dick and slurping his jizz.

It is what CP is at present.

A QueerBait Death Cult cesspool. This time it's worse than the last time Bob Dole tried to drain it.

Mahomes' criticism and praise will be his own.

This site has extended the cliche of armchair QBing to the bleeding edge, both in terms of armchair and QB. We think we know everything about the sport that the professionals can't see, and it all, every single bit of it boils down to a high profile, franchise selected, blockbuster QB, whichever one is on the table at the moment will do for all of our hopes and expectations.
