I'm not going to read that. Why keep reliving it? It absolutely blew the first time.
I'd rather read about the WNBA at this point. |

By Mike Cranston, The Associated Press CHARLOTTE — Guard Monique Currie was selected by the Chicago Sky with the No. 1 pick in the WNBA dispersal draft on Monday. Currie was one of 11 former Charlotte Sting players taken. The Sting, an original member of the WNBA, folded last week after 10 seasons. Currie, a former Duke standout, was the No. 3 overall pick in last year's college draft. She averaged 10 points in her rookie season in Charlotte. "Monique is a strong shooting guard, with three years of experience playing in the Final Four with Duke," Sky coach Bo Overton said. "I'm looking forward to getting her on the court with our team." Tangela Smith, the Sting's leading scorer last season at 13.1 points per game, was selected second by the Minnesota Lynx. The 30-year-old Smith has averaged 11.9 points in her nine-year WNBA career. Janel McCarville, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 college draft, was taken third by New York. McCarville has struggled in her first two WNBA seasons, averaging 3.2 points and 3.1 rebounds. San Antonio selected guard Helen Darling with the fourth pick and Phoenix took guard Kelly Mazzante with the fifth selection. Washington drafted Teana Miller, who missed last season because of pregnancy, with the sixth pick. Seattle then selected Tye'sha Fluker, Houston took Yelena Leuchanka, Indiana drafted veteran Sheri Sam, Sacramento went with LaToya Bond and Los Angeles selected Ayana Walker. Detroit and Connecticut did not select a player. "I'm happy for all of the players," Sting general manager Trudi Lacey said. "They can now focus on their new teams and I wish all of them the best." Lacey said she has a year remaining on her contract and expects the WNBA to honor that deal. Two Sting players, center Tammy Sutton-Brown and forward Allison Feaster, are unrestricted free agents and weren't included in the dispersal draft. They can sign with any team when the free-agency period begins Jan. 15 |
