I don't mind Watkins but you just have to count on him for only about half the year. If the guy is cheap he might be worth it.

I think I already said this but in dream land where we could get a low risk (low guarantee) multi year deal for Watkins, I am down. But I think he either gets a big deal the Chiefs wouldn't be able to match, or he gets a one year "prove it" deal which is pointless as we want receivers locked up to go through our prime period of contention with PM, rather than just be here for his first season as a starter where he will still be developing.

I think a one-year deal for a guy like Watkins would be great. I don't get why you say he would be developing. If he signs a one-year deal it is in hope of putting big numbers immediately and we are talking about a veteran player.

Really, a one-year deal would be great because Mahomes' next year is when he will need most weapons and it would give us another year to better evaluate Conley, Robinson and Chesson.

I'm not a real smart man but that seems like alot of signings for a cash strapped team.

Matt Miller’s podcast says the Chiefs are expected to pursue a WR who can be a threat down the field, and they pointed toward Sammy Watkins as a fit.

Yes please.

A good wide receiver? Why do we not need a good wide receiver?

I wouldn’t mind taking a shot at Watkins on a team friendly deal.

The guy is still only 24. The injuries are worrisome, but there’s still hope that he can put a couple good/healthy seasons together.

Maholmes will be the one developing, not Watkins. I don't think the Chiefs have a shot at winning it all next year with a QB with 1 career start and a defense in need of a major overhaul.

If that's the case, a 1 year deal with Watkins has no good outcome. Either he blows, and who really cares, or he performs and then the Chiefs can't afford to re-sign him for the years when they could genuinely contend for the SB.

Yeah, I don't like spending in free agency on a WR. Just doesn't seem to pan out very often for whatever reason.

Nick Jacobs just brought up the idea on twitter, at first I was against it but it makes sense.

They may want to bring in some vets on offense to help Mahomes development and go young on d.

That’s what I said last week when I brought up the Watkins idea.

We have Houston and Berry to lead on defense as they draft young players. The offense is young all over. Kelce might be the veteran of the group at this point.

I’d rather take a chance on Allen Robinson than Watkins
