Because with a franchise QB with two major shoulder injuries in the past two years, and an o-line that left Marc Bulger on his back more often than a 19-year old co-ed with daddy issues, you can afford to trade starting linemen for LBs...

They drafted Jason Smith last year and the Saffold this year.

Barron is physically incredibly gifted and could be a brilliant LT if he had 10 cents of brains. Unfortunately, he does not. He has proven over many years that he has at most 6 cents worth of brains.

So what you're saying is, he'll fit right in at Flozell's old spot?

Flozell commits a lot of penalties, especially lately, but Barron is seriously so dumb he often doesn't know the snap count and just lets a guy run past him. Its pretty sad considering his potential. Saffold was a good pick for STL and they needed a LB bad. I think they win this one.

Garbage out, garbage in.
Barron definitely has more upside than Carpenter, IMO - but I don't think he'll ever come close to realizing it. The kid has talent, just a 10-cent brain to go along with it. The Rams didn't get any better, nor did they get any worse, IMO. |

The Cowboys have turned some pretty marginal guys into ok lineman so I can see why they'd do this deal.

Barbie Carpenter really sucks! He has been one glaring weak spot for the Cowboys. Baron may be a idiot, but he is a idiot that is a upgrade to what they have in place now. Both teams seems to be somewhat desperate, but the Rams have to be worse off to want Barbie.
