The Kansas City Chiefs like their basketball players turned tight ends and they’re at it again. The Chiefs are one of several teams that VCU basketball player Mo Alie-Cox will visit. He averaged 9.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game at VCU.

It was believed that he was draft eligible this year but actually the NFL said he was draft eligible last year and is now a free agent. So he can sign with anyone.

There’s this story from two years ago of Cowboys tight end Jason Witten going to a VCU game and telling Alie-Cox that he has a football body — 6’7 and 250 pounds.

You've got a football body, Witten told Alie-Cox. Not to mention huge hands, he added, stretching his own digits — hardened and calloused by a dozen seasons in the NFL — for a palm-to-palm comparison. You could get an invite to an NFL training camp just based on how you look out of pads, Witten said.

"He told me I could make the transition to football," Alie-Cox said. "He said if it's something I wanted to do I should look into it."
The Chiefs have two college basketball players on their roster already and both are tight ends - Demetrius Harris and Ross Travis. Chiefs GM John Dorsey is turning over every stone.
